1) Condition of battery contacts (are there 20 year old cells corroded into the battery compartment?)
2) Does the film transport operate without squealing for at least one minute(does the camera need lube?)
3) Is there fungal growth inside the lens (looks like spiderwebs)
4a) Unless you want to fly by an external light meter, does the internal one work?
4b) Does the meter require some funky battery that hasn't been available for 20 years?
5)Don't pay premiums for sound cameras!
6) Did the eyecup disintegrate leaving you nothing but an uncomfortable stub to poke your eye?
7) There are some features that aren't indispensable, but quite nice to have a)multiple filming speeds b) single frame capability c)intervalometer d)carrying case (etc., etc.)
Be careful!, there are alot of useless cameras out there being sold by people who can't tell the difference!
